History
Thrive:
At New monument we shape our history curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive to every child. Our aims are to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for History; providing a broad, balanced and progressive curriculum that encompasses the British Values throughout. We aspire to equip our students with the right tools to nurture their progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge, skills, and about life in the past.
Aspire:
It is our intent to propose a high-quality history education to help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding. To create a better sense of events and historical figures. We want our children to thrive by developing appropriate knowledge and interpreting a range of texts, facts and deepening their understanding of the wider world around them. To understand how and why some things change or remain the same; and the outcomes of events that follow. We encourage insightful questions and critical thinking to better develop perspective and judgement.
Achieve:
Our framework allows for children to achieve progressive development in new skills through exploring, enquiring, and cultivating a passion about the past to attain a deeper understanding of our world.
